CHILDREN AND STAIRS

CHILDREN

Once the child is born, everything in the world of parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles revolves around the new protégé.

The first things are taken care of, such as care products, strollers and, if not already done, the children's room is prepared.

As the little ones get older (crawling), they become mobile, want to expand their horizons and explore their surroundings out of curiosity. Then at the latest you realize how many dangers lurk in the household alone. These are not only sharp edges on cupboards and tables or the hot stove, but especially the stairs in the household.

This happened to us too and gave us the incentive to create this site.

Our daughter also sat on the lowest step (open staircase) and let her legs dangle through the open staircase.

As cute as it was to look at, we immediately realized how dangerous an open staircase is and we immediately set about making our newly built open staircase childproof.

Our first thought was to simply close the stairs with boards or plexiglass. Fast, inexpensive and practical. However, we quickly realized that we were darkening the entire staircase area and that we had unknowingly installed a dust catcher.

Another solution had to be found.

We thought, drew, argued and got along until we finally found the best solution that we were completely satisfied with.

We would also like you to share in our solution and offer it for purchase in our online shop.

As parents, we also still have to contend with the dangers posed by little bullies. I still remember stepping on the sharp-edged Lego bricks at night. However, we haven't found a solution for this yet (other than cleaning up :-)
